I had to perform disaster recovery, part of it I've done through brtools, I restored data files and some of archived logs.

There were problems with online logs so I had to manually recover until cancel, after that I could open database with logs reset.

What troubles me now is that in brtools menu there was option "Open database and post-processing".

I have opened database but what post-processing now needs to be done?

I am about to copy existing SAP system by overwriting this with another SAP system via system copy.

(e.g. system ABC will be overwritten by system ABD (system export) and still called as ABC).

Which option within tcode SE06 should I choose during the initialization of TMS and what are the differencees?

a) system copy or

b) installation

If I right click on broswer and see View Source of the page, it is displaying information related to Development components, java version, SAP version etc..

I am very new to SAP and would like to know how to avoid the information.

I have already tried setting useServerHeader to false and DevelopmentMode to False in SAP J2EE engine.

I have installed three OpenText Archive Servers ( DEV QA and Production)  to be connected to three ECC environments: DEV ,QA and Production.  Functional Team  want  V7 content repository name for all three environments,  so that they don't have to change any configuration.  Now my question: Is it problem ( or problem in future down the road)  if same  V7 content repository name is used in OAC0 in each ECC system which are  connected to three different Archive servers? Is there any naming standard needs to follow ?

I googled using the terms "sap redisplay system message"  but only came up with info on how to use SM02 and how to create messages and display them to users.

What I am looking for is a way for the user to re-display the system message.  Currently, our messages are only displayed once when you log on for the first time that day.  If you log out, and come back later and log in, you don't get the message.

It would be nice to be able to recall the system message.  In some development, test and support clients, we us the system message to tell when the last time the system was refreshed from the production server as well as planned outages.  It would be nice to be able to check that message when ever we need to.

Any ideas?

When I send a new SAP-mail in transaction SBWP it is possible to create an attachement on this mail. When I press the Button to create the attachement a Dialog box opens with an arbitrary path in the Explorer. Is it possible to initialize this Path with a Default Path ? I tried this with the Parameter GR8 and GR9 without success. Are there any other parameter to initialise this path ?

I have a SAP NWA 7.0 Java system .  I am trying to configure data supplier through Visual admin for my java system. When I am clicking on "SLD Data Supplier" in Visual Admin, it is crashing Visual admin and my session closes automatically. Clicking on any other items is working fine. Only clicking SLD Data supplier is having issues.

Could anyone of you can help what may be the issue ??

I am facing a problem in visual admin tool.

First I would like to explain the scenario :

In portal system I forgot the ADMINISTRATOR user password. I follow the steps for to change the password as I logon using sap* in portal and change the password of this user then in config toll I change the password for Admin\Passowrd\Systemid\ in secure store.

HI All,

I have set up a NW 7.4 abap server with GRC and Fraud Management on Windows Server 2008 R2. The DB is HANA. Recently, I noticed that the disp+work.exe process has stopped. I haven't changed anything on the server that I can recall. I have restarted the server as well as services. Checked all the user credentials. upgraded the kernel, than reverted to the original, still no luck!

Error message:

i need help with my "new" Problem during installation of SAP Netweaver, everything is ok until "Phase 21 of 24'" is reached,

here should the instance started, i receive this error:

"An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including Enhancement Package 2 > SAP Application Server ABAP > MaxDB > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step :ABAP processes of instance NSP/DVEBMGS00 [ABAP: STARTING] did not start after 10:10 minutes. Giving up.)."

I can see in the SAPmmc that msg_server.exe ist started and is green, but disp+work.exe is yellow and have a status:

"Running but dialog queue stand still."

That all make me confuse, why is there a such big difference in 32 and 64bit installtion?

I have this problem only on windows 7 64bit. on 32bit windows i nave never problems with installation.

Can anyone help me here please?

If need more information i can put here some logfiles?
