SAPCONTROL GetProcessList Returns Yellow

All,

 

We are in the process of using SUM (Software Upgrade Manager) to upgrade our Solution Manager 7.0 system to SM 7.1 SPS 10.

 

During the check phase of SUP, we get an error when the system runs sapcontrol....GetProcessList.  GetProcessList returns yellow (full output attached, for some reason SCN won't let me paste into the discussion).

 

It indicates that some (but not all?) Java processes are running.  Looking at /usr/sap/SID/Instance/work/dev_server0, the Java stack comes up as "Running"

 

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Portal and ECC version that support Webdynpro ABAP

Hi Experts,

    Currently we are using the ECC 6 EP 5 and Portal 7.01 SP 5 versions.

We have made some customizations to the ESS and MSS  and developed some interactive forms using the Webdynpro JAVA. 

 

We are planning to move to Webdynpro ABAP and rebuild all the applications.

 

Do we have to upgrade both the ECC and Portal versions for this ?

What are the versions of ECC and Portal that supports the Webdynpro ABAP?

How do I make data source shareable in NetWeaver?

I got the following exception well running my application.

 

org.springframework.transaction.CannotCreateTransactionException:

JTA failure on begin; nested exception is com.sap.engine.services.connector.exceptions.BaseSystemException:

Cannot add more than one resource(Managed Connection) with LocalTransaction support in the same transaction for component "webContainer/applications/sap.com/FS-PRO.ear/csiroot" in application "sap.com/FS-PRO.ear".

 

I did some research and find this page Unable to Get a Connection From a Data Source (SAP Library - SAP NetWeaver? Problem Analysis Guide (PAG))

 

Now I'm trying to make the data source shareable in NetWeaver. In the 'web.xml' file under the WEB-INF folder I already have the following

  <res-ref-name>CamilionDs</res-ref-name>

  <res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>

  <res-auth>Container</res-auth>

  <res-sharing-scope>Shareable</res-sharing-scope>

Is there anything else I need in 'web.xml? Are there other files I need to create?

SAP JVM update to latest version in NW 7.31 Java only stack

Hi ALL,

 

Can I know what is the procedure involved updating JVM? As there is no JSPM in 7.31 what are the options to update?

 

I tried by extracting SAR file and changing version in parameter file but it wasn't successful. After changing to latest version Java stack has not started.

 

Are there any dependencies in updating JVM?

 

We have a portal system with different version of JVM, Does this has anything to do?

 

I would like to update from SAP JVM 6.1_35  to JVM 6.1_63.

now i am doing sd benchmark test. i created client 900. as you know  for sd, 1 client have 1000 users to simulate.

 

 

question is that:

 

can i use any number of users less than 1000 to simulate? i did not find any doc talk about it.

Installing a Wildcard Certificate in STRUST

Hi,

 

I am trying to install a wildcard SSL certificate using STRUST on our ABAP system.

If I try to import it using the "Import Cert. Response" button, I get an error message saying the certificate cannot be installed. I presume this is because my private key does not match the public key of the certificate.

 

How can I get a wildcard certificate working with my ABAP system? Do I need to somehow change the private key of my system?

what can be migrated to Hana

Hello

 

We have different kind of systems and we are thinking to move to Hana. We have SRM, CRM, PI, IS-utilities and we are thinking to move to Hana.

Of course we would need upfront products to be upgraded to NW 7.4 and EHP6 or even EHP7 (IS-Utilities etc)

Do you see any obstacle?

Issue in dual stack system copy

Here I have given the System export folder, but getting an error. Can any body please let me know the exact folder for the issue.

Connection fail with j2ee to SDM

Hi,

 

I have NW 2004 (dual stack) and I upgrading it with NW 7.3 though SUM tool SP05. In sum tool configuration phase JAVA...it ask for j2ee_admin password and SDM password. I don't have password of both. So I change j2ee_admin password of dialog user via sap*. And SDM password using following command:

 

sdm jstartup "sdmhome=F:\usr\sap\PI1\DVEBMGS00\SDM\program" "mode=standalone"

 

sdm changepassword "sdmhome=F:\usr\sap\PI1\DVEBMGS00\SDM\program"  "newpassword=XXXXXXX"

 

sdm jstartup "sdmhome=F:\usr\sap\PI1\DVEBMGS00\SDM\program" "mode=integrated"

 

I put these new password of j2ee_admin and SDM in configuration phase of sum tool and click next following error prompted:

 

Could not display dialog UserPasswords. Could not execute dialog UserPasswords. See previous messages. Error while trying to validate Administrator password. Possible reason: the J2EE engine is not started. Error while trying to get initial context. com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NamingException: Exception while trying to get InitialContext. Check RFC status without login to system

Hi Team,

 

As part of daily monitoring i am supposed to check multiple RFC status whether Connection test pass of fails that's too in multiple systems.

 

I have downloaded the RFC SDK and able to see multiple executable inside bin folder. I am not aware of executable use. I know out of all the executable we can use "sapinfo.exe" to check the availability of system.

 

I am looking for command line query which can login to system and check the status of RFC connection test.

Question: Upgrade vs. EHP of NetWeaver

Dear experts,

 

I have a doubt/question regarding the upgrade strategies of NetWeaver 7.0.

There is now EHP3 for NetWeaver 7.0, which says SAP Application Server

ABAP 7.31. There is also NetWeaver 7.31. The Basis version is the same,

but when checking the ST06 transaction, in EHP3 it looks the old way (like

in 7.0) and in NW 7.31 it has the new design.

Both SAP_BASIS components have the same level, though the transactions

look different.

Also In MOPZ I see options for upgrade to 7.31 and for EHP 3. Which one

should be preferred ? EHP or upgrade and why are there differences ??

In SMP we can download the SUM tool from the below path-->

Installations and Upgrades - S" SAP SOLUTION MANAGER" SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.1" SOFTWARE UPDATE MANAGER" SOFTWARE UPDATE MANAGER 1.0

 

Is the SUM tool common for Single stack & dual stack systems?

Please let me know your comments.

Schema error in NW 7.3

Hi All,

 

I am installing SAP EHP1 for NW 7.3 on SQL server 2008 R2. When I am trying to install I am getting the attached error on the step "Create/Modify Schema". I thought its a user permission and tried many ways but I am not getting solution.

Please let me know what is the issue?

Inbound Email Configuration

Dear Gurus,

 

We are trying to configure inbound emails into SAP with exchange server 2007. Followed note 455140 and completed most of the config but couldn't able to get messages into SAP inbox. what we are trying do is, to setup offline workflow approvals. request you guideline and valuable inputs on how to get the desired functionality.

 

1) created new entries into RZ10 as follows.

 

is/SMTP/virt_host_0                         *:25000;

icm/server_port_1                           PROT=SMTP,PORT=25000,TIMEOUT=180;

 

2) Activated SAPConnnect in SICF.

 

3) Activated ICM->SMTP service.

 

4) Maintained default domain as test.com in SCOT.(Note: Test.com is not available, just a dummy one).

 

After restarting the instance, sent a mail from SBWP to my outlook id( mail sender-SAP LOG IN ID@test.com, receiver-rakesh@xxxxx.com).i am able to receive the mail into outlook but when i reply back not reaching SAP inbox(SOIN).

am i missing any thing in the configuration ?. why am i not reaching back to SAP inbox ?.

 

if we need to create a rule or route in MSEXCHANGE 2007, how can it be created with port 25000.

 

request your expert opinions.

    i am trying to consuming odata service in sapui5 table... but ONE ERROR is comming...

Error "Signal c00 received by operating system" while creating tables

Hi,

I installed "SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP 7.02 SP6 32-bit Developer Edition" on Windows XP, and that was surprisingly easy, compared to previous tries with previous editions.

But now, when I try to create tables, namely when I try to activate the table or when I choose the tab "Entry help/check" I got the message "disp+work.EXE" has encountered a problem and needs to close" from my operating system and my session is terminated.

I can see this error in my syslog with the test "SAP Basis System: Signal c00 received by operating system".

 

What can I do to fix that problem? Using the trial version without being able to create tables is much less fun ...
