Hello experts!
I have installed NetWeaver 7.3 Trial on Windows 7 64 bit as a local installation.
The installation went fine.
However, I was not able to log into the system via web gui at http://localhost:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-client=000.
[On Firefox I get the message: 'Unable to connect' and on IE I get 'Page can't be displayed'].
I continued with the process and installed SAP GUI and I am able to login, got a license and the developer key was installed correctly.
So all good...except that I am not able to use the web gui.
I have tried to look for similar issues on SCN but nothing has helped me resolve this.
My /etc/hosts looks like this:
# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost
192.168.1.20 MicroServer
I can ping to localhost, Microserver, 192.168.1.20 and 127.0.0.1 from the command prompt.
[Thus, I have not installed the MS loopback adapter].
I have also tried switching off the firewall to no avail.
I am unable to change the ICM Parameter, trans. SMICM shows me this:

icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP,PORT=0,TIMEOUT=60,PROCTIMEOUT=60
icm/server_port_1 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=0,TIMEOUT=120,PROCTIMEOUT=120
Now I assume the HTTP port should be 8000 instead of 0 but I do not get any option to change this (I have tried Goto -> Parameters -> Change), the entries for icm/server_port_0 are greyed out.
I have tried to check trans. SICF, I see the entry for sap bc -> gui -> sap -> its -> webgui and I have activated the webgui service.
And yes both the msg_server.EXE and disp+work.EXE are running and are 'green' in the SAP management console.
The MaxDB Studio works fine as well.
So please help me to get the WebGUI working.
