After several months of work we are happy to provide SAP BW customers who are running the SAP SEM scenario on a SAP NetWeaver standalone system with an easier way to model their product system within Solution Manager.
Before it was necessary to model the product system as an SAP ERP system within Solution Manager
but now it is possible to use the newly created SAP SEM Add-On product versions for SAP NetWeaver. This will lead to easier system maintenance and upgrade/update handling within Solution Manager.

The new SAP SEM Add-On product versions will be activated.
It is now possible to run SAP SEM on NetWeaver in two scenarios:
a) Handling the Add-Ons as part of product SAP ERP

b) Handling the Add-Ons as part of NW Add-On product SAP SEM
The new Add-On product versions are available for:

To be able to use the new Add-On PV for SAP SEM update the CR-Content on SLD/Solution Manager: SAP Note 669669. For the availability of the new product data in SMSY please refer to SAP Note 1935993.
New Installation
For new installations the new Add-On product version could be choosen as usual during MOPZ transaction within the Add-On Selection Step.
Change to Add-On Product Version of SAP SEM (CISI)
Customer which are currently using the ERP variant have now the chance to change to the new Add-On PV using the CISI process.
