Naming convention of files under $(DIR_GLOBAL)/sapcontrol

Could any one shed some knowledge about the naming convention of files under $(DIR_GLOBAL)/sapcontrol/

Every SAP App server has files under this path that are created by sapstartsrv service for every minute.

3_51513_51514_167_1_15_<instance> --> This is one of the file created by sapstartsrv service for every minute. First letter "3" defines priority of the sequence in starting instances of an SAP system. "51513" & "51514" are the ports on which this instance is available.

What bout the other parts of this naming covention?  Could some one explain about the other parts of this naming convention.

Connect to sapstartsrv via sapcontrol -prot NI_HTTPS & SSO

Hello,

I try to setup a https based connection to the sapstartsrv service including a client certificate SSO. The server validation for SSL is successfully done at client side. The sapcontrol program validates the server certificate (based on self signed certificates issued by myself as this is just for test purpose)

I can see the request for the client certificate in the trace information of the sapstartsrv.log

[Thr 139637867071232] ->> SapSSLSessionInit(&sssl_hdl=7efff976be18, role=2 (SERVER), auth_type=1 (ASK_CLIENT_CERT))

[Thr 139637867071232] <<- SapSSLSessionInit()==SAP_O_K

[Thr 139637867071232]      in: args = "role=2 (SERVER), auth_type=1 (ASK_CLIENT_CERT)"

...

[Thr 139637867071232]   No Client Certificate

The sapcontrol program should now send a client certificate... but I run into a http 401

sapcontrol -prot NI_HTTPS -host <remotehost> -nr <instancenumber> -function GetVersionInfo -debug

FAIL: HTTP error, HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized

If it is done via -queryuser the sapcontrol shows up with the requested information. But I want to do the authorization based on the certificate without providing user / pwd.

service/sso_admin_user_0 ist defined in the profile of sapstartsrv (default.pfl) which enables the request for the client certificate.

Self signed client certificate was added to SAPSSLC.pse on the sapcontrol side. The access is done from a linux system to another linux system. I read notes 1439348 and 1642340 and the sapcontrol / sapstartsrv is on kernel 7.21 PL 201.

Any ideas or suggestions on this issue ?

Kind regards, Hinrich

Transport method CTS is not available when trying to do an export in Portal

Hi,

I have configued CTS+ for Portal using PI as our communication system.I have checke RFC destination sap.com/com.sap.tc.di.CTSserver in NWA of Portal and it is working fine.

Please find my observation below:-

I changed WBO_GET_REQ_STRATEGY = TAGGED instead of SMART. After that I am getting CTS option and if I create the transport request manually

then I am able to export it.

However if I set WBO_GET_REQ_STRATEGY = SMART it does not create the transport request automatically which is happening in our sandbox

system. Also during this step we are getting an ABAP dump each time we are getting "Transport method CTS not available" error in Portal.

Hello,

In order to be compliant to security requirements, we need get another response code from our Portal when entering incorrect credentials.

When everything is OK, I understand HTTP response code is 200.

2015-02-26 13_26_24-Clipboard.png

But when I enter incorrect credentialss, it shouldn´t be that way.

Is there a way to change this ? For example, that the system send a code 302 back?

Thanks in advance for your help and advices

islocked attribute in UME_STRINGS table

Hello All,

I'm trying to prepare a query to UME_STRINGS table to find users that are not locked in NetWeaver. I check field ATTR for islocked parameter and then according to the value of this parameter (true or false) I know if the status of user's acount.

Unfortunatelly I've found an example of account that has islocked set to true, but when I check the same account in NetWeaver, it is not locked. I wander why database and NetWeaver UI show different values.

Do you have any idea?

SAP system shortly unavailable each night

Dear Experts,

there is a strange problem, that I have been fighting with during the last week or two.

Each morning I can see e-mails from the Solution Manager Technical Monitoring, that the Solution Manager system (7.1 SPS 12)

itself has been reported as unavailable around 22h. It is probably a short outage, as on the next day I always find the system running,

it is NOT necessary to start it again. When reviewing the SM21 system log, I could see a couple of messages:

Request (type DIA) cannot be processed.

I guess that this has been triggering the alerts. Then with time, I have increased the number of DIA work processes, I have also

set the following parameters:

rdisp/tm_max_no                         1000
rdisp/element_per_queue                 5000

This did not resolve the problem, it just changed the type of the error to:

Request (type NOWP) cannot be processed

I have been googling, but didn't find any reasonable solution. The only thing that was worthy to check was:

Dispatcher fails (Request (type NOWP) cannot be processed) - Toolbox for IT Groups

The parameters rdisp/appc_ca_blk_no and rdisp/appc_ca_blk_no have their default values of 1000. If I would calculate them according

to Note 3223, as advised in the thread above, I would come to much smaller values, like about 250, so this can't be my problem.

Also the kernel is much newer than buggy versions, reported in various notes - it is 7.21 EXT patch 300.

I have checked the dev_disp file - there are some strange messages for which I couldn't find an explanation, even after extensive googling.

I am posting here a large part of the log from the time of the error, while trying not to overflow the thread:

How to know which transport orders should be released before a SAP Upgrade?

Hi Guys,

Wich transport orders should be released before a SAP upgrade? How could I know which transport orders should be verified by the programmers, etc before an upgrade?

I verified the table E071 to check all the lock objects but I'm not sure if this is the best way to verify which transport orders have lock objects on it that could present an issue in a SAP upgrade.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Carlos

Dear SAP Gurus,

I have installed SAP ECC IDES System on Windows Server 2008R2 with MaxDB about 6 months ago.

Yesterday I wanted to use it again, but the process disp+work.exe is stopped after it is started for some seconds.

I really appreciate any helps.

Thanks.

Undeploying .SCA/ .SDA / .EAR / .WAR files on J2EE servers on Netweaver release 7.1 and higher

$
0
0

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to list all the undeployment options available to undeploy .SDA (Software deployment Archive) and similar files on SAP J2EE servers Netweaver release: 7.1/7.2/7.3 and the upcoming 7.4 version. For a similar knowledge base article for the deployment of these components, check SAP KBA document : http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1715441.

In earlier SAP releases (version 6.40 and 7.00) the Software Deployment manager (SDM) tool could have been easily used for this. However, it has depreciated in the latter releases. For more information, check: Undeploying Components - Using Java - SAP Library

NOTE: Undeployment as such is not supported and should be used only in cases where the SAP Basis admin is well versed with the system landscape and the repercussions of this activity very well. If unknowingly a component is deployed, the best option would be to restore the system to the previous state it was before the deployment was triggered. Hence, you should always take a full offline backup before commencing deployment.

Option 1

The best option to use is the J2EE TELNET "UNDEPLOY" command.

1) Open telnet connection and run the below commands:

> lsc (to list the available server nodes)

> jump <server node> (usually jump 0)

> add deploy

> undeploy -h (to get the command syntax and all the available options. For more information, check http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/TechTSG/(JSTSG)(Telnet)DeployController+Commands

For example: >undeploy name=com.sap.pct.mdm.tech.wizards vendor=sap.com name= on_undeploy_error=stop

telnet undeploy.jpg

If you wish to undeploy multiple SDAs , use the "list" option to supply an XML file as argument. Here is the syntax to run that command from telnet:

undeploy list=D:\usr\sap\UndeployItems.xml

on_undeploy_error=skip_depending on_prerequisite_error=skip_depending

******************* ******************* ******************* **** ******

The XML file has to be EXACTLY in the below format (including the case and spaces)

<Components>

  <DevelopmentComponentLine vendor="sap.com" name="MyApp"/>

  <DevelopmentComponentLine vendor="sap.com" name="MyService"/>

</Components>

******************* ******************* ******************* **** ******

NOTE: This will not calculate the dependencies though. If the operation fails, the logs will give you an idea on the dependency involved and then you can make a call on whether you wish to undeploy them in that order as well. Once all the SDAs related to the SCA are removed, then the "undeploy_empty_sca" command can be used to delete the empty SCA from the server.
This is extremely useful in cases where the SCA in question has many SDAs, like the GP-CORE SCA that has more than 102 deployed components and undeploying one by one can be a cumbersome affair.

Option 2

The Netweaver Developer Studio undeploy view can also be used to this purpose. Firstly navigate to NWDS -> window -> preferences and maintain the j2ee server details:

preferences.jpg

Now open the undeploy view by clicking on Window -> show view -> other

view.jpg

and select the undeploy view:

undeploy view.jpg

Once this is done, you can select the DC components that are part of the SCAs that need to be undeployed. It is also possible to select the whole SCA file using this technique:

undeploy list.jpg

Also do check:  http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/44/70655c200812d2e10000000a422035/frameset.htm

Option 3

The guiconsole.bat in the location /usr/sap/<SID>/J<nr>/j2ee/console is a script that will inturn open the telnet application and you can commence undeployment as mentioned in option 1.

Option 4

ANT scripts can be used for undeployment of SDAs. For more information on this, check: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/46/150746f21914dce10000000a155369/content.htm.

Netweaver 740 support pack issues!

Hello ,

This is my first post in SCN !

I have recently installed NW 740 system on top up we installed CRM NW713 SP01 and addon FLDQ component.

Client Requirement   CRM 713 SP01 &FLDQ SP03.

To apply SP03 on FLDQ component , Prerequisite:SAP_BASIS SP09 level is required , for these I was generated XML files to upgrade all NW core components(SP09) & FLDQSP03  , in the process of generating XML file BBPCRM is going to SP07 level.

XML file info: [SPAM_CVERS]

BBPCRM &13       0007

FLDQ 440_740   0003

MDG_FND 747       0007

PI_BASIS 740       0009

SAP_ABA 740       0009

SAP_AP 700       0032

SAP_BASIS 740       0009

SAP_BS_FND 747       0007

SAP_BW 740       0009

SAP_GWFND 740       0011

SAP_UI 740       0012

ST-PI 740       0001

WEBCUIF 747       0007

So I have generated one more XML file for to upgrade only SAP_BASIS, dependencies of Basis components and FLDQ ,I have done upgrade. now SAP_BASIS component in SP09 level and remaining 3 core components in SAP_ABAP ,PI_BASIS ,SAP_BW in SP03 level , as of now system is fine, kindly suggest is there any harm to system?

All suggestions are always  welcome

Hi All,

We are trying to configure our ECC  system for inbound email processing. Inbound  email process will be used for open text tool for receiving invoice from different vendor.

In this process, we have configured 1. outbound email ( working and tested successful). 2. Routings  for email/exchange setup is completed.(confirmed from Exchange team) 3. configuration related to inbound email processing on SAP system is completed.( SAP has logged into system and confirmed everything looks good.)

However, whenever we trying to email back to sap system we are getting below error message. Can you check below error message and help us to fix inbound email configuration?

Hello,

we've made a systemcopy to a new installed SAP ABAP-System NW7.0 EHP2 with 720_EXT NUC-Kernel . The Oracle 11.2.0.4.0 Database started without any Errors . But I cannot start the SAP-System:  Error:

Checking E31 Database

Database is not available via R3Trans

---------------------------------------------------

Database E31 must be started first

Log on to remote Server and start database

We've also checked the trans.log  and found the following error:

R3trans.png

I also checked the SAP-Note: 400241 - Problem with ops$- or sapr3-connect to Oracle

without any success!!!

So what could be be the Problem?  Anyone who can help us or has solution to fixe the database connect problem?

Best greetings

Mathias

SAP doesn't start (only manually)

Hi,

What is happend: after a simple ST-A/PI update I restarted SAP (DEV). On an other system (QAS) I restarted the whole system. Just a simple restart .. not a bit of it! After the restart, I started the DB and tried to start SAP via MMC, but the MMC just showed the Process List and Access Points and SAP doesn't came up!

Windows 2008 R2 SP1

Oracle 11.2.0.4

SAP ERP 6.07 (nuc)

So I restarted the Service SAP<SID>_00, nothing changed.

I reinstalled it, nothing.

In the work directory the sapstartsrv.log shows the following entries, nothing to worry about:

So I checked also:

- Environment variables

- Filesystem accessibility

- Windows Events

- reinstalled Redistributable Package

- MMC Update

If I start the SAP system manually, I get the system without any problems up:

D:\usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS00\exe\igswd.EXE -mode=profile pf=\\<HOST>\sapmnt\<SID>\SYS\profile\<SID>_DVEBMGS00_<HOST>

The strange thing is, after I don't find anything about it, I tried a restart on an other system and guess what, exactly the same problem!

No error messages in the logs .. and a manual start works.

I think the SAPSTARTSRV service doesn't start properly without any error messages!

So, does anyone got an idea? Maybe it's just simple and I don't get it. I just want to ask you before I open an OSS message ..

Thanks!

Best regards,

Tobias

Hello,

we've a Problem with DB13 backups/arcdhive/check-db etc. We want to start  for example: check-database on our Solutionmanager in the DB13 on a Remote Database-Server. The  Connection works over a Sap-Gateway on the Database-Server.

We've also checked the following SAP-Notes: 134592, 437648, 776505, 113747, 980266, 446172, 1853959, 1028624, 1025707

without any success. Same error-message (see above).

Our Landscape:

Solutionmanager: 7.1  on SLES 11 SP2

Database: Oracle: 11.2.0.4.0   on SUN SOLARIS 5.11      11.1May 2014

Standallone-Gateway installed on Database-Server

On the database-Server, we've add the <SID>adm from Solutionmanager and copied the brtools and sapxpg in the Home-Directory.

So , what can be the Problem? Any ideas?

Kind regards,

Mathias
