Missing Class CL_IM_SIC_NOTIFY_ILN after upgrade to NW731

$

Hello All,

Would somebody mind confirming if they have BADI implementation class CL_IM_SIC_NOTIFY_ILN, which is called from the BADI implementation SIC_NOTIFY_ILN  ?

We've upgraded from BI 3.5 to BI 731 (cont 747) and now we can't edit or add new users via SU01.

The IF_EX_ADDRESS_UPDATE is being called and it's looking for the class CL_IM_SIC_NOTIFY_ILN, which doesn't exist.

I've confirmed that this class doesn't exist in any of the NW7.0 systems or in the original BI 3.5 system.

The object directory entry seems to say that it would have been implemented in 2006, so it was created as part of the upgrade.

I just don't understand why we would have this BADI implementation, without the respective class.

Many thanks,

Darryl

DDIC CL_SWNC_COLLECTOR_DB==========CP Update on SWNCMONI

Hi All,

in our productive ERP system we observer a strange behaviour since a few days:

- Serveral processes under user DDIC --> Report CL_SWNC_COLLECTOR_DB==========CP --> rapidly updating table SWNCMONI

- Massive changes on the DB leading to massive log switches and creation of numerous archive logs --> more than 400MB per minute

I already checked the following OSS:

- 1578639 --> implemented - no effect

- 1631033 --> not implemented --> does anyone have any experience with this?

Any Idea how i can get these processes under control?

Thanks in advance and kind regards,

Looking for a DB17 equivalent on a Java Stack system

Ok, sort of new-to-me question here.  When monitoring systems with ABAP stacks if I have to add/change an oracle paramter for monitoring I go in to DB17.  On a Java only system there is no 'DB17' ... or is there?  Where is the stuff hidden in NWA?

Thanks

IcmAcceptClient: server overload: conn: 500 - accept delayed

I am using a NetWeaver AS Java 7.40 8 node cluster to test out some demanding processing and when doing so I noticed I begin to see some sluggish response times with our web application and via SAP NetWeaver Administrator. I feel like we may have too many concurrent HTTP requests going on. As a result, I am trying to figure out how to confirm this or tweak the timeout NetWeaver permits by default for requests and/or tweak the number of requests that can be handled at once.

Also, I am seeing issues in the SAP Web Administration Interface’s Core System’s Trace section with overloads. Please see the following for a snippet of the warnings I'm seeing.

What do these mean and how can they be addressed?

I am interested in trying to tweak some timeout properties or maybe the number of requests that can be handled by the dispatcher. How do I get to the following tool:

•    http://help.sap.com/SAPHELP_470/Helpdata/EN/ac/8f813a34872769e10000000a114084/content.htm

The SAP Web Administration Interface seems similar, but does not allow me to “administer” the ICM in anyway it appears. How do I launch this tool?

Section 2.1 of the the following link describes dealing with timeout issues via the transaction code SMICM tool? What is this and how do I launch this tool in NetWeaver 7.40 AS Java (I have been told that this tool is possibly only available to ABAP systems?)?

•    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c059d583-a551-2c10-e095-eb5d95e03747?overridelayout=true

Also, I found this article that describes the round robin load balancing used by the web dispatcher. Would this need to be tweaked possibly?

•    http://help.sap.com/SAPHELP_NW70EHP3/helpdata/EN/48/99C3D999273987E10000000A421937/content.htm

Any assistance on troubleshooting either the database connection pooling problem or what appears to be a “too many requests” problem for the dispatcher would be greatly appreciated!

Hi All,

With funny mood, let's make Boring Administrative life interactive

You have to do nothing but get a time to answer easy question and ask question for other.

I will start with one simple SAP Basis question, give a correct answer and make a new question so that other can answer..

You might find it easy and silly but it may be lucrative for new joiners.

Condition is , if you are Not answering the question you are not allowed to make a new question. Don't Cheat

Question - Why SAP does SAP recommend having copy of DDIC user for Support Pack work while we have DDIC available in the system?

Open SQL Data Browser error User is not authorized to read table

Hi Experts,

we are on NW Portal 7.30 EHP1 SP5 and want to use the Open SQL Data Browser in NWA with the administrator user. Appropriate Roles and Actions as descriped in SAP Help were asigned.

But no matter what table we select in the screen, we always get the error "User is not authorized to read table <TABLENAME>"

We found SAP note 1748559  which exacly discribes that behavoir and of course we've implemented it.

Perhaps anybody can help me to get work with this tool.

Thanks a lot!

Load Balancing in SAP

$

Hi Experts,

There are 2 instances here, one is CI and other is Dialog instance.

I am a little confused on what basis the users are logged on each instances.

One what basis the message server determines and directs the logon of a perticular user to that perticular instance?

As per my analysis, a report named RSRZLLG0 that provides message server information for load balancing is not scheduled.
Also in SMLG there are 2 groups created for both instances with same group name, and the thresold values for Response time and users are being maintained in each of them.

Also, the CPU Idle time for the central instance is always low (below 30% at times), and I can see more users at the CI than the dialog.

Kindly help me in clearing my doubts.

Harikrishna

UWL API NW7.3 NullPointerException

Hello everybody,

i am trying to play around with the UWL Api. It's a local Server on NW7.3.

I referenced tc/kmc/bc.uwl/api in my Project. I created an Webservice which should create a new UWL Task. But i only get an NullPointerException and i don't know why.

Here's my Code:

@WebMethod(operationName = "createTask", exclude = false)          public void createTask(@WebParam(name = "subject") String subject,                              @WebParam(name = "description") String description) {                    try {                              Properties env = new Properties();                              env.put(InitialContext.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,                                                  "com.sapportals.portal.prt.registry.PortalRegistryFactory");                              // create initial context                              InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(env);                              // retrieve UWL service                              IUWLService uwlService = (IUWLService) ctx                                                  .lookup("/broker/services/" + IUWLService.ALIAS_KEY);                              // find logged in user, in my case it's the "guest" user                              IUser loggedInUser = UMFactory.getAuthenticator().getLoggedInUser();                              IPushChannel pushChannel = uwlService.getPushChannel();                              IProviderConnector providerConnector = uwlService                                                  .getRegisterProviderConnector(IProviderConnector.BPEM_CONNECTOR_ID);                              Item item = new Item(providerConnector.getId(), "SAP_LocalSystem",                                                  Long.toString(System.currentTimeMillis()),                                                  "USER.PRIVATE_DATASOURCE.un:testUser");                              item.setDescription(description);                              item.setItemType(ItemType.UWL_ITEM_TASK);                              item.setCreatedDate(new Date());                              item.setCreatorId(loggedInUser.getUniqueID());                              item.setRequiredAction(true);                              item.setStatus(StatusEnum.INPROGRESS);                              item.setExternalObjectId(String.valueOf(item.getInternalId()));                              Set<String> users = new HashSet<String>();                              users.add("USER.PRIVATE_DATASOURCE.un:testUser");                              pushChannel.pushItems(providerConnector, loggedInUser,                                                  ConnectorResult.createUnknownResult(new ItemCollection(                                                                      Arrays.asList(item))));                    } catch (NamingException ne) {                              ne.printStackTrace();                    } catch (UWLException uwle) {                              uwle.printStackTrace();                    }          }

Notes to my Code:

  • "USER.PRIVATE_DATASOURCE.un:testUser" is a correct User-ID.
  • The Systemname "SAP_LocalSystem" and the Connector "BPEMUWLConnector" informations i have from the UWL->Show Connection Status Dialog.

The Response of this WebService is like that:

<SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">   <SOAP-ENV:Body>      <SOAP-ENV:Fault>         <faultcode>SOAP-ENV:Client</faultcode>         <faultstring>while trying to invoke the method com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.admin.IPropertiesManager$SystemProperty.getCacheEnabled() of an object returned from com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.core.ServicePropertiesManager.getSystemProperty(java.lang.String, java.lang.String)</faultstring>         <detail>            <yq1:java.lang.NullPointerException xmlns:yq1="http://sap-j2ee-engine/client-runtime-error">while trying to invoke the method com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.admin.IPropertiesManager$SystemProperty.getCacheEnabled() of an object returned from com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.core.ServicePropertiesManager.getSystemProperty(java.lang.String, java.lang.String)</yq1:java.lang.NullPointerException>         </detail>      </SOAP-ENV:Fault>   </SOAP-ENV:Body></SOAP-ENV:Envelope>

Before using the functionality delivered with SAP note 1851646 please make sure that the prerequisites regarding: SAP BASIS Support Package, Kernel and SAP GUI version and patch levels are fulfilled from SAP note 1415647.

The code corrections delivered with 1851646 are created for older SAP BASIS Support Package levels too due to sustainability and code maintenance reasons. This doesn't mean, that the functionality can be used without fulfilling the requirements of note 1415647.

NetWeaver AS Java 7.40 Load Balancing

Here is a little background on what I believe is going on and what I am trying to achieve. We have a web application deployed to a NetWeaver AS Java 7.40 eight node cluster, which can kick of a couple types of jobs. The one job is rather intensive in the sense that it involves a decent amount of web traffic via RabbitMQ messages and REST calls. When this job is running our web app becomes a tad unresponsive. It seems subsequent AJAX calls are not processed until this job is finished, which I am guess is because each node is backlogged with requests to handle. With this suspicion in mind, I would like to possible use server groups or logon groups to keep certain REST calls from only being handled by a subset of the nodes in the cluster or maybe something else along these lines. My limited understanding of the logon groups in NetWeaver makes me believe that this could be used to allow 1 or 2 nodes to always be available to process requests from the web app.

I have already tried tweaking some of the ICM and Web Dispatcher profile parameters by appending the following to /usr/sap/RL3/SYS/profile/DEFAULT.PFL:

    #-----------------------------------------------------------------------
    # Custom Parameters
    #-----------------------------------------------------------------------
    icm/max_conn=1000
    icm/max_threads=1000
    icm/req_queue_len=10000

    wdisp/info_timeout=61

I did find where to add Logon Groups in NWA, but its not clear to me how to configure one and how to make it work. I went to NWA --> Configuration --> Infrastructure --> Java HTTP Provider Configuration --> Logon Groups tab

At this point, I added one node to the "Instances" for a new Logon Group I created and for the "Prefixes" tab I added "/security-service" which I was hoping to get all of our REST calls in the format of "http://rl3nw74:50000/security-service/..."

This does not seem to be working though. Do I need to configure a URL mapping in some property file somewhere or do something else?

    Thanks,

    Kevin
