Hi gurus,
I am facing an issue related to the job SAP_SLD_DATA_COLLECT. That job was cancelled and when I checked the job log, it didn’t show any information about any errors or any fail on its steps. On the other hand, there is a work process taking a lot of time (it’s a DIALOG WP running _SLD_ASSOC program), this work process began its long time running at the same time as the job was cancelled.
Do you have any tips or advice regarding this issue?

I was trying to install SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SR1 SP3 ABAP Trial Version on Windows XP SP 2 (using VMware)
I struck at the step: 2
SAP System > DNS Domain Name
My system name is "jakkasap.ent.localhost.com".
I entered "ent.localhost.com" in the input field 'DNS Domain Name for SAP System' and was getting bellow error:
ERROR: Reverse lookup of address '-64.-88.-124.129' failed. **
I tried with following values but no use:
"ent.localhost.com/"
"/ent.localhost.com/"
"jakkasap"
Even though we can skip this setting and continue installation, I think this setting is necessary for Web Dynpro development.
So, could any one help in finding right value for the 'DNS Domain Name for SAP System' input field?

We have noticed that our web dispatcher does not load balance correctly when a server is taken out of the logon group in SMLG. The web dispatcher still directs traffic to that server. We are on web dispatcher 720 patch 526.
We have noticed that, under session dispatching, the 'Show logon groups' page does not change and still shows the group that was removed within SAP. Even purging outdated sessions is hit or miss on whether that group entry is replaced. The context_timeout should take care of this and purge these entries after 1 hour, but we see entries in there that are days old.
Is there a parameter/setting that can be used to ensure that sessions are directed to the correct server through the dispatcher, once the server has been removed in SMLG?

Hi I´m trying to update the kernel of my system from 700 to 721 in accordance with note 1713986. After the update disp+work and message server are running but I can´t logon in SAP, I get the error DBIF_REPO_INTERNAL_ERROR occurred P1=ABAP gen. In the dev files I have lots of error DBIF_REPOR_INTERNAL_ERROR during program generation.
SAP ECC 6.0 on windows 2003 server 32 bits and mss sql server 2005 SP3
Any help will be appreciated.

While installing the NW SP7 on Windows 2003 I am receiving the following error in the logfile that says the extension is too long. Has anyone else seen this problem and knows how to resolve it??

Dear Experts,
I am upgrading SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SPS with SUM tool.
During PreProcessing Phase ABAP>MAIN_SHDCRE/DBCLONE Server Down.
During this step SUM created 3 background jobs DBCLONE1,DBCLONE2 & DBCLONE3 during this phase our SAP Sytem gone down due to cloud issue. After we started our SOLMAN system job was cancelled in SM37 with status red, i deleted the job with this assumption that SUM will repeat the step n create the job 
unfortunately SUM is looking for these jobs and giving FATAL error (Screenshot & logs attached)
Please suggest the solution?? i reach to this prepossessing step after 4 days and don't want to scratch SUM.

Hi All,
I have a problem in my SOST mail sending. I have added the physical IP address of SAP host server in the mail exchange server but it seems it is expecting the virtual IP address of my SAP system.
Is this the expected behavior ? I don't want to use my virtual IP in my exchange server. I want to use my physical IP so that other SAP installations on the same host too should be able to send the mails.

We are facing issue while trying to redirect from http to https.
Could you please provide us the settings or list of parameters that need to be added in dispatcher for the redirects to happen .
The requirement is urls should redirect to https for any pages where sensitive data is displayed or entered, Also need to link back to http when we leave those pages. When we click “login” for example, it should redirect to HTTPS through login, but if we hit one of the categories after that it should return to HTTP
Redirect is working fine when we access the application directly using server name and port. when we go through dispatcher we are facing the issue.
PS:
We tried to change the parameter [ icm/HTTP/redirect ] but found no luck, I want to know weather the object "FROM" in the parameter icm/HTTP/redirect is necessary to mention or can i eliminate it by just entering the objects "prefix" and "to" in the parameter.
and what is that i need to enter in the "PREFIX" (i.e. should I enter the whole url or what!!? Kindly let me know what i need to fill it with.

My ABAP program calling a URL to open some document. That redirects to different URL with status code 302.
The redirected URL in browser asking to confirm "Agree" button for terms and conditions. Once I click that button in the browser, its actually open the actual URL. Need help to achieve that from ABAP.

Hi,
In SAP screen personas 3.0 you can easily make input fields read only but I can’t find a way to make table columns read only.
For example me52n I’ve got a request to allow one group of users the ability to edit some fields but not all fields. I can make everything in the red box “read only” but that does not help as they can still edit the information in the table above (blue box). I can “hide” the columns that they should not be able to edit but this is not an ideal solution as they still need to be able to view it.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

But, following error is coming after command run.bat in command prompt.

Scenario: Assume I am upgrading my ERP system to SPS21. I have two development systems DA1 & DA2. DA1 is in the production support path DA1->QA1-->PA1. DA2 is in the SAP upgrade path DA2-->QA2. To prepare for the upgrade I used system refresh techniques to copy DA1 to DA2 and QA1 to QA2. Then I applied SPS21 to both DA1 and DA2.
Once transports are applied to PA1 they need to be "replicated" in the upgraded systems so they can be tested again. What is the best method for getting the DA1 transports into DA2?
I was thinking of using the following technique
1) Use STMS to manually add the DA1 transport to DA2 - AFTER it is applied to the production system (PA2)
2) I will select the option to overwite originals when importing the DA1 transport to DA2
3) I will create a DA2 transport and merge the objects from the DA1 transport into this new transport
4) I will test the changes in DA2 and if it looks good I'll release the DA2 transport into QA2 for integration testing
Does this make sense? Is there a recommended way for performing this type of transport?

I am trying to upgrade my NetWeaver AS Java 7.31 using SUM. I generated stack.xml from maintenance planner platform and downloaded required Patches and SPs.
In the 5th step during the execution of the upgrade, SUM needs to restart the AS Java in order to deploy components but it failed while restarting the server. The error in SUM says that:
an error occurred while restarting the cluster using SAP control webservice on URI http://localhost50113/?wsdl ..... Client protocol has thrown an exception. protocol name is [Unkown]. ... Implementation for Consumer protocol with name [SecurityProtocol] is not registered in the client web services runtime. This protocol is required for normal web services client execution.
I tried manually to deploy SCA using telnet but I got the same issue.
Also I changed the default profile param: service/protectedwebmethos = NONE | SDEFAULT | DEFAULT
After looking in log files. SAP recommends to update my kernel (but it was already in 720 PL400):
I updated the kernel to (720 PL800) also 721 Ext kernel but I still have this issue.
Now my SAP system is broken even I can't access to nwa (500 error).
I followed sap notes and some SCN blogs to update the kernel but nothing changed. I still at the same point.
Any help suggestion?
