ClassCastException when casting OracleConnection from data source

$
0
0

Hi

Our application uses a custom data source to manage the connections to the customer's Oracle database.

We need to use proprietary OracleConnection methos, so we cast the generic Connection JDBC to OracleConnection. Example:

@Stateless
public class TestEJB implements TestEJBLocal {  @Override    public void testDriver() throws Exception {  // The data source is obtained from the JNDI    DataSource ds = (DataSource)new InitialContext().lookup("jdbc/ORACLE_TEST");  // When casting the Connection a ClassCastException is thrown, and the code fails here    OracleConnection oc = (OracleConnection) ds.getConnection();    }
}

At line 12 of the above code, we get the following exception:

Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: Cannot cast class com.sap.engine.services.dbpool.cci.ConnectionHandle to interface oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection

We do understand why we are getting the class cast exception (it is explained in this connection management article).

What we don't know is how we can overcome this problem. We need to use an "oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection" object to access proprietary methods (we are dealing with Arrays and other objects).

Can you please suggest options to overcome this? Is some sort of configuration available at the datasource level?

thanks in advance.

Hi,

Have used SOST tcode to trace recipient of PO document for internal sending via Microsoft outlook. Have saw the recipients there.

But some of the recipients (sap users) of PO email have not received any notification that PO has been approved in Microsoft Outlook.

Just want to know the reason why it happened and the remedies for this issue.

Thanks and regards,

System Time on VM Server

Hello, I am having time issues on my distributed environment running on VM because the time is out of synch among the servers.  I came across a document at one that stated SAP servers should not get their time from the ESX host but from NTP.  I would like to know if this is still valid and where I can find this document (not sure if it was a note or a whitepaper).  Thanks in advance.

'FRF-00007 Unable to open RFC connection' Error

Hi All,

I'm installing SAP 4.7 IDES for oracle on windows 2003 server. I was able to complete the installation till the end, but in the last stage of installation i.e. at 'Starting RFC jobs (post processing)', I got 'FRF-00007 Unable to open RFC connection' Error. I had terminated the installation process and then restarted , this time it started asking to enter password for DDIC user (RFC logon verification), I had given password for DDIC user as '19920706', but it is not accepting that password. And the process in an infinite loop .

Can anybody help me to solve this issue

Which Package for Upgrade

Hi.

We want to upgrade one of our test server to NW 7.5 to test the new SAPUI 7.5 Libraries ans 1.32 Runtime.

For that the new SUM wants to have the DVD with the Label "NW750_MID" if someone knows where to find the media to download I would really appreciate it.

I already downloaded every single file in Netweaver 7.5 on SWDC.

Best regards.

Christoph

The cluster server element 441305751 is not added in the EP cluster context

Hello Experts,

We are using load balancer to distribute the load across of our four portal servers nodes. Lately, two of our nodes are behavior very strangely; it continuously stopped working momentarily and it started back up again automatically by it self. And the users usually received a message u201C500 internal server erroru201D.

#1.5 #001372559B8800280000000200002D940004692BC78C988A#1241536659228#com.sap.engine.services.prtbridge##com.sap.engine.services.prtbridge####n/a##defe75c0398711debfb1001372559b88#SAPEngine_System_Thread[impl:5]_55##0#0#Error#1#/System/Server#Plain###

The cluster server element 441305751 is not added in the EP cluster context,

   because prtbridge on 441305751 is stopped  or not yet started (maybe the server is starting or shuting down).

Any helps would be appreciated,

Hello!

I've installed NetWeaver 7.02 ABAP Trial Version on AWS EC2 as it described in

http://scn.sap.com/community/netweaver-gateway/blog/2012/07/16/installing-sap-netweaver-gateway-20-trial-with-abap-702-on-aws-for-dummies--part-1

Problem arise when i try to start NSP in MMC after re-start me VM (everythings work OK until i first time switching off VM after succesful instalation)

The problem is disp+work.EXE stopped after short time since start.

I have tried ti reinstall it from the scratch several times but the issue is the same. There are several similar threads on scn but they don't provide solution for my case.

Undeploying .SCA/ .SDA / .EAR / .WAR files on J2EE servers on Netweaver release 7.1,7.2,7.3,7.4 and 7.5

$
0
0

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to list all the undeployment options available to undeploy .SDA (Software Deployment Archive), .SCA (Software Component Archive), .EAR (Enterprise Archive) or .WAR (Web Archive) files on SAP J2EE servers Netweaver release: 7.1/7.2/7.3, 7.4 and the upcoming 7.5 version. For a similar knowledge base article for the deployment of these components, check my SAP KBA document : http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1715441
(How to deploy .SCA/ .SDA/ .EAR/ .WAR files on J2EE servers on Netweaver release 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 and 7.4).

In earlier SAP releases (version 6.40 and 7.00) the Software Deployment manager (SDM) tool could have been easily used for this. However, it has depreciated in the latter releases. For more information, check: Undeploying Components - Using Java - SAP Library

NOTE: Undeployment as such is not supported and should be used only in cases where the SAP Basis admin is well versed with the system landscape and the repercussions of this activity very well. If unknowingly a component is deployed, the best option would be to restore the system to the previous state it was before the deployment was triggered. Hence, you should always take a full offline backup before commencing deployment.

Option 1

The best option to use is the J2EE TELNET "UNDEPLOY" command.

1) Open telnet connection and run the below commands:

> lsc (to list the available server nodes)

> jump <server node> (usually jump 0)

> add deploy

> undeploy -h (to get the command syntax and all the available options. For more information, check http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/TechTSG/(JSTSG)(Telnet)DeployController+Commands

For example: >undeploy name=com.sap.pct.mdm.tech.wizards vendor=sap.com name= on_undeploy_error=stop

telnet undeploy.jpg

If you wish to undeploy multiple SDAs , use the "list" option to supply an XML file as argument. Here is the syntax to run that command from telnet:

undeploy list=D:\usr\sap\UndeployItems.xml

on_undeploy_error=skip_depending on_prerequisite_error=skip_depending

******************* ******************* ******************* **** ******

The XML file has to be EXACTLY in the below format (including the case and spaces)

<Components>

  <DevelopmentComponentLine vendor="sap.com" name="MyApp"/>

  <DevelopmentComponentLine vendor="sap.com" name="MyService"/>

</Components>

******************* ******************* ******************* **** ******

NOTE: This will not calculate the dependencies though. If the operation fails, the logs will give you an idea on the dependency involved and then you can make a call on whether you wish to undeploy them in that order as well. Once all the SDAs related to the SCA are removed, then the "undeploy_empty_sca" command can be used to delete the empty SCA from the server.
This is extremely useful in cases where the SCA in question has many SDAs, like the GP-CORE SCA that has more than 102 deployed components and undeploying one by one can be a cumbersome affair.

Option 2

The Netweaver Developer Studio undeploy view can also be used to this purpose. Firstly navigate to NWDS -> window -> preferences and maintain the j2ee server details:

preferences.jpg

Now open the undeploy view by clicking on Window -> show view -> other

view.jpg

and select the undeploy view:

undeploy view.jpg

Once this is done, you can select the DC components that are part of the SCAs that need to be undeployed. It is also possible to select the whole SCA file using this technique:

undeploy list.jpg

Also do check:  http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/44/70655c200812d2e10000000a422035/frameset.htm

Option 3

The guiconsole.bat in the location /usr/sap/<SID>/J<nr>/j2ee/console is a script that will inturn open the telnet application and you can commence undeployment as mentioned in option 1.

Option 4

ANT scripts can be used for undeployment of SDAs. For more information on this, check: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/46/150746f21914dce10000000a155369/content.htm.

JAVA instance startup issue

We are facing an issue in JAVA instance startup. I have attached the error in jvm_bootsrap  I also wanted to know how can we modify element-info under server node in configtool.
Looks like need to put os.name, os.bit.length and os.Unicode in element info sheet. I have also attached the screenshots of the old instance ID and new instance ID. Looks like old instance ID had these entries.

Thanks in advance!

  Hi Experts.

I would like to install Sap Content Server 6.40 on Windows Server 2003.

In "Installation Guide - SAP Content Server for Windows" is written: "Insert the SAP Installation Master DVD" but it is impossible to find it on SAP marketplace any more.

Could you tell me what I have to download form marketplace to install Content Server or give some current tutorial.

Hi,

I have completed SCC9. I run BDLS at the target client and it says " The logical system XYZCLNT800 has not yet been defined".

Is it that I have to define XYZCLNT800 in the target client first before executing BDLS?

Thank you.

Hi !

I'm able to access my xs Engine using https://hana host:4310

I need to get this working using a Web Dispatcher HTTPS port.

I'm able to access http://<WD host>:<WD port for HANA> just fine...but when I try to change HTTP to HTTPS in the WD profile, it fails with the below error:

ERROR: Connection to server HANA host:4310 failed

My WD profile looks as below:

icm/server_port_2 = PROT=HTTPS,HOST=HANA host,PORT=8099,TIMEOUT=900,PROCTIMEOUT=900

wdisp/system_2 = SID=HANA SID, EXTSRV=https://HANA host:4310, SRCSRV=*:8099, SRCURL=/

When the items in bold are made HTTP, I can access http://WD host:8099 for the xs engine just fine.

For HTTPS in the WD profile, The browser says: 503 Service Unavailable

Do I need to import some certificate from HANA to the WD ?

HANA & WD lie on the same host.

Please help advise...

Thanks a lot !

saba.
