Delta queue Integrity:ECC:BW : SID Change
Hi All, I had a query in regards to Delta queue handling for ECC-BW integration for scenario described below:
To give background, we are in process of performing upgrade/Unicode conversion/OS-DB migration for our ECC 6.0 and BW 7.0 systems. This is phased project where ECC golive is around month prior to BW golive.
Planned Changes:
ECC:(1ST PHASE)
Old SID: PRP --> New SID: ECP
Log SYS:PRPCLNT100 --> Log SYS: PRPCLNT100
Old HW --> New HW
ECC 6.0 EHP4 --> ECC 6.0 EHP5
Non Unicode --> Unicode
OS/DB Migration
BW: (2ND PHASE)
Old SID: BWP --> New SID: BWP
Log SYS: BWPCLNT100 --> Log SYS: BWPCLNT100
Old HW --> New HW BW 7.0 --> BW 7.4
Non Unicode --> Unicode
OS/DB Migration
As mentioned, we are planning SID change for ECC but will retain SID for BW.
I guess SID change for ECC is the one which will impact Delta queue the most. (do not see problems for other changes planned)
However, as mentioned in SAP note 886102 logical system conversion is not supported by SAP for Production systems and hence we intend to change on ECC- SID but retain old logical system name.
In this context, I want to understand whether these changes will be of any issues with respect to Delta queue integrity ECC-BW? and
what steps do we perform to ensure delta queue connect seamlessly post ECC changes? (We will empty the delta queue for all of the connected BW systems as mentioned in scenario C1 of SAP note 886102)

Support portal - where is the SAP Guide Finder ?
Dear Experts,
in the old SAP support portal, there was a very nice corner, called the SAP Guide finder.
One could then easily find procedures for system copy, installation, upgrade, etc.
Now I've spent 2-3 hours looking for it on the new portal and it has vanished completely !!
Anyone with some hint where that one went ?

"You are not authorized to download selected object" when trying to download SAP Kernel 7.21 EXT PL 500 with DL
Hello everyone,
Yesterday (April 30, 2015) SAP released the new patch 500 for SAP KERNEL 7.21 EXT 64-bit.
I am using Download Manager and I was able to download the Kernel Part II (DB-Dependent) .SAR file and other files as you can see in the screenshot, but for the Kernel Part I and disp+work files I get the error: "You are not authorized to download selected object".
On the other hand, I am able to download older versions of the Kernel Part I (SAPEXE_XXX.SAR).
Is this a technical problem on SAP side (SMP)? Did anyone encounter the same issue and found a solution?

Hi,
I am receiving this error only sometimes and when i check the authorization for that particular user the authorization for that plant is already present. But it is still saying you have no authorization, This is happening when trying to create Reservation through webdynpro.

Not able to download tc~sec~ume~logon~ui.war

We have already customized logon page, there i have enabled the option logon Problem?GetSuppot.
I want to change this to "Forgot Password". We are working on portal 7.3 and NWDS 7.0.11.
Am not able to find the war file tc~sec~ume~logon~ui.war to do changes.
Please help me to download the file. Am not able to find the path

Stms import queue is taking time to refresh
Hi Guru,
I am facing a stms_import issue. import queue is taking time to refresh and it is showing checking component. I could see the TRs already in Import queue from Se01 logs, but when refreshed to get the TR it is stuck here. Where RDD* job is event triggered.
Few days before we update our system.....Sap kernel --- 740 and sp level 07.
Please suggest..

Backup- offline Sybase ASE 15.7
Good afternoon, looking at the weekly SAP EWA report, there is a recommendation that tells me to do a Offline Full Backup, I would like to know if there is a special way to do it, or, if it has to be done from Sybase directly or SAP.
I have been looking information in Sybase's knowledge base, and all of them tell me that i need to stop the database and copy the files to another location.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Removal of Reserved in SWPM
There was a requirement to do Quality System copy from Production.The SAP version was Netweaver 7.0 and it was installed with earlier tool SAPINST. During that time the SID provided was not coming under the reserve SID.But now the SAPINST tool is no more available, So SWPM is the only option for doing the system copy after database backup restore method.
I exported dump from the production system and uninstalled the quality system with SWPM and everything got removed. But during the installation in the Quality system with SWPM it gave error <SID> is reserved for SAP.
I checked the SAP note "1979280 - Reserved SAP System Identifiers (SAPSID) with Software Provisioning Manager 1.0" and found that the <SID> of Quality system is there.
The only option was to rename the Quality system <SID>. But its connected to lots of SAP and non-SAP third party system and after renaming to new SID, lots of work need to reconfigure. So thought if I do some changes in the SWPM and remove the <SID> which is now blocking during the installation.
So removed the <SID> in the following .xml file after extracting the SWPM.
1. Find the <SID> containing files with the below OS command.

DB12 causing DB crash
Hi All,
I am in a situation which is weird and generates no logs.
This is a R/3 4.0B db DB2 7 running on AIX system, on which when I run DB12, SAP and DB2 freezes.
There are no logs and the OS freezes. Ultimately, we have to reboot the server.
The only thing that was observed was that db2sync process causing high paging.
I was not able to get time for a fix, so thought of sharing with you all and your expert comments before taking this further.

loop and read statements
hi all,
I am getting more than 75000 records in one table. I have to concatenate 3 fields from it into one variable, for all entries and then use that variable to fetch another table. I have to do this for all possible values of that variable.
So which statement should I used to get values from internal table into work area if there are more than 75000 records. LOOP statement or READ statement.?

Issue in TREX 7.1_62 installation on Linux

I tried to use other locations like /usr/sap/D82 as installation location, inthat case it tries to create link like
/usr/sap/D82/D82 --> /usr/sap/D82
My server has /sapnt/D82 and /usr/sap/D82 as separate mount points.

SNOTE hanging : sapnote is being downloaded
Hi all,
After an SAP upgrade to ECC 6 , 700 sp 31 with SQLserver 2012 and Wndows 2012,
we have a strange issue with transaction SNOTE.
When we go to snote, and download any note, the transaction seems to be hanging.
It keeps on showing in the bottom left corner : SAP note is being downloaded.
Transaction OSS1 has been defined.
SM59 : SAPOSS is working fine; authorization test also working fine
Fromthe SAP system we can telnet our SAProuter on port 3299, and on the SAProuter we can telnet the SAP system on port 3200 (inst nr = 00)
on help.sap.com I found an article, saying that you should copy the SAPOSS rfc to SAPSNOTE rfc, with user OSS_SNOTE and group 1_PUBLIC.
I tried this as well, RFC working but SNOTE still hanging.
I restarted the SAP system, still snote is not working.When I enter any note to download, and hit enter, the transaction seems to be hanging.
In SM12 I can see the lock that has been set.
RFC trace files : nothing
SM21: nothing
ST22 : nothing
Does anyone have any ideas what could be the issue here?
In SE06 the system change options are all set to modifiable, and mu user has got SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW profiles.
To be clear: We can go to transaction SNOTE, and even see the notes that are already in the queue.
The problem is only when downloading a new note from within SNOTE....

disp+work.exe Dispatcher status Stopped
Hello Guys...
I have Netweaver 7.31 (demo server) and could not able to up the server for ECC system. As I could see disp+work.exe status stopped in Console Root.
It will be "Green" the moment I start the server but when we click on SAP logon it will become "Yellow" and disp+work.exe status shows stopped.
Is there any solution for the above situation??
